The Great Debate - Morley vs. Nightingale.....when worlds collide.......

We are organising a series of events in which we will debate a number of financial and market related issues ~ many of which have come to the fore as a result of the turmoil in markets. These events will take place in London, Guernsey, Jersey and Geneva and will take the form of a head to head debate between Ian Morley and Roger Nightingale. The events are billed as The Great Debate - Morley vs. Nightingale.....when worlds collide.......

  • The Guernsey event will take place on Tuesday 25th November at the OGH Hotel - Regency room @ 16:30pm ~ followed by Christmas drinks

  • The Jersey event will take place on Wednesday 26th November at the Royal Yacht Hotel @ 11:45am
    ~ followed by lunch

  • The Geneva event will take place on Thursday 27th November at La Salle Athenee 4 @ 17:30pm
    ~ followed by the Geneva launch party

Ian Morley and Roger Nightingale are both heavyweights in the global investment community and regularly contributors to international newspapers, financial industry working parties, are speakers at conferences and commentators on financial matters on the television and financial news networks.  These events provide a rare opportunity to have exclusive access to such dynamic and highly regarded speakers and, as it is likely they will take opposing sides in any debate, the events should make for lively and highly informative exchanges. Ian Morley

Ian is Chairman of Corazon Capital. He has over 30 years experience in financial markets in portfolio management and derivatives structuring. He was the founding Chairman of The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and serves on the Council of AIMA. He works closely with a number of trade and regulatory organisations and serves on various UK and international groups involved with Indexation, Derivatives and Alternative Asset Management. Ian is a Member of Grays Inn, the Institute of Directors, the Foreign Press Association and the Securities Institute. He has advised the Bank of England, the Central Bank of Ireland, the OECD, the EU and other international institutions about the managed derivatives and Hedge Fund industry. Ian is a lecturer and Industrial Fellow at Kingston University on the MA Strategic Finance course. He is a noted financial author, including "Morley’s Laws of Fund Management", and has lectured throughout the world on derivatives and alternative Investments. Ian graduated with a BSc Economics (Hons) from the London School of Economics.

Roger Nightingale

Roger has worked in the financial services sector for almost forty years. He started at stockbroker Hoare Govett initially as a research economist, although he then went on head the economics and strategy division. He became a partner in 1976 and, when the organisation became a company in 1982, he was invited to join the main board. Subsequently, he set up and ran an economics consultancy serving institutional investors in five continents. He has acted as an adviser to pension funds, insurance companies, banks, consulting actuaries and brokers. Additionally, he has served on the boards of a number of trusts and companies. Roger has extensive contacts in the media. He appears on television and radio all round the world and writes for a number of newspapers and magazines. He is British, is married and has five children.
